Abstract

In the light of the debate about lettering and value, we are going to discuss a best-seller’s journalistic-criticism reception. As the object of analysis, we chose Harry Potter books, that sold millions of copies all over the world and became a kind of worship target to the readers. As a contraposition to this enthusiastic reception, the critics usually recurs, as a critical parameter, to the high numbers of selling that the books has in spite of its aesthetics aspects. We are going to show that not only the books are devalued by the critics, but also Harry Potter’s readers – something that sustains stricter and sacred walls around Literature.
