I investigate in this text some images of Amazon depicted in the travel writting The Sea and the Jungle, writen by H. M. Tomlinson. My argumentation is that this narrative depicts the native as a being from Other world, like in a dream, I mean, as an antithesis of an European. Traveling as only an desimbodied eye, a seing mind, this traveller and peregrin, in a scape from London city, sings the Amazon landscapes in a sublime way. Yet when he refers to the native some exasperation of an etnocentric tendency, racism and all others unveil ways of xenophobies are reinforced.References
