Abstract

This article aims to analyze two songs linked to contexts of migratory flows. It tries to explore scopes of meaning that emerge from this context of cultural production. The analysis is based on a comparative perspective and has as its object of study the songs Big City Life by the duo Mattafix and Auf uns by Andreas Bourani. Like other artistic-cultural products, songs reverberate dimensions of the social reality in which they are inserted. Thus, it is relevant to check how songs position themselves in the context of their production. Methodologically, we seek to take into account the semiotic complexity of the objects of study, especially in the confluence of lyrics and clip. Sociocultural positioning and the semiotic confluence represent the two key vectors for the reading to be presented.
