Abstract

In Marriage of Heaven and Hell, William Blake brings an idea that breaks with the religious and political forces in his time. Who shows this thought is the demonic presence, referencing John Milton's Satan and locating itself into a cultural matrix. Keeping this in view, by analyzing excerpts of the poem, this paper tries to unveil the figure of the devil in the poem, the representation of it and ideal that communicates.
