Abstract

This work has the purpose to focus on certain literary strategies and articulations under the dialogic perspective of a discursive intercrossing between the concepts of  Wandering and Perdition applied to the analysis of the short story A Distant Episode by the North-American writer Paul Bowles, highlighting the multicultural crossroads built by his outsider and expatriate fiction, revealing a multifacetary game of deconstructions and questionings within the dialogue between the author’s cultural and identity references (centers) and his experiences close to other cultural particularities (margins), trespassing boundaries, differences, and limits between the Self and the Other.
