Comparative Lyrics: The Vision of Helen in Sappho of Lesbos and Alceu

The present work deals with the objective of a comparative reflection about the poems of two Greek lyric poets: Sappho of Lesbos and Alcaeus. The discussion of the two poems chosen shows a stylistic bond in recovering homeric myths and also a discrepancy between them in relation to their ways of which they rebuild the Homeric myths in their poetry. The discussions also intend to comprehend the existence of opinions in the treatment of the myth approached in the poetic production of the two poems chosen for this work: the Helen’s myth. Through the different forms of the myth it is possible to understand the form of approaching aspects of the patterns of the past.Downloads
